PROFILE

• Year of Establishment: 2004 with B.Sc (MPE)
• Medium of Instruction: English

Progression:

• In view of the upcoming technological trends both in software & Hardware, B.Sc (MECs) was introduced.
• Keil software was introduced for final year practicals in the year 2010-2011

Activities:

• An industrial visit to Central Institute of Tool Design (CITD) was organized for the final year students in the academic year 2010-2011 as a part of student orientation & development programme
• An Extension lecture was conducted on specialized training courses in tool engineering & CAD / CAM
• Yearly Board of Studies meetings are conducted for changes of curriculum and evaluation pattern

Laboratories:

• Department has spacious, well established laboratory
• Major equipment in the lab:
      o Cathode Ray Oscilloscope
      o New Microprocessor kits using Keil Software
      o Digital Equipments
      o EDC Equipments
      o Analog Circuits
      o Modulation Equipments
      o Function Generators & Power Supplies

Innovations:

• Continuous evaluation in theory & practical
• Small projects are given to students in practicals
• Keil software is introduced in practicals to provide an opportunity to inculcate information technology based applications in teaching & learning.

Development & Expansion plans:

• Project work for B.Sc III Year students
• Usage of PowerPoint presentations & OHP by the staff members
• A field trip to Bio-medical Instrumentation (OU) for B.Sc II Year students
• A one-day seminar to be conducted on ‘Embedded Systems’
• Multisym software is to be implemented
• To expand the Electronics Lab with new software
