MBA PROGRAMME
It is my proud privilege to introduce our college, Raja Bahadur Venkata Rama Reddy Women’s College named after Raja Bahadur Venkata Rama Reddy a pioneer in the field of women’s education. Management education is very important in the development of a country as it adds value to nation-building. Realizing the importance of management education especially for women, the college started the MBA programme in 1991.Our college is the first affiliated women’s college to offer the programme .The course has a full fledged faculty. The faculty has been striving hard to equip students with managerial skills and promote personality development. The results have been consistently good from the inception of the programme.
The department has seven full time faculty. Ms Sapna Singh was awarded Ph.D. in Marketing Management in January 2004. Other faculty members are also pursuing doctoral studies in Business Management. The faculty is exposed to both national and international conferences to hone their skills and knowledge.
The curriculum of the MBA programme emphasizes business concepts and integrates innovations necessary for success in today’s changing business world. The college has established rapport with business organizations through academic sessions by visiting faculty from industries and consultancies.
Apart from the rigorous course content, the student gains hands on experience and academic skills through projects, presentations, workshops and Management Meets in collaboration with various organizations.
A member of the faculty is incharge of the Placement Cell. The cell helps in placing 25% of the students in Multinational companies like G.E., Panaecia, ICICI, India Insure & Dr. Reddy Labs, DELL computers (Bangalore). It releases “Niyukti” a placement brochure which project the students’ profile and facilitates interaction with the companies.
M.Sc (Computer Science) and M.Sc (IS) Courses were started in the years 1998 and 2000 with an intake of 30 and 40 students respectively. We are proud to say that ours is one of the first ten colleges permitted to start the M.Sc (IS) course. The first batch of M.Sc (IS) has come out in flying colors in 2003. The result is 100% out of which 17 were distinctions and the rest were first classes.
The students are doing their Project Work in reputed organizations like NIC (National Informatics Center), Satyam, Wipro, DRDL, Sierra Atlantic, Avineon, M.C.H, NSIC, etc. NIC, a Central Government organization, which usually selects only 2 or 3 students from each institute, selected 10 students from our college this year for various Govt. Projects which were worth 15 to 30 crores. This in itself speaks volumes about the merit and capabilities of our candidates.
Faculty members are sponsored for quality improvement programmes every year. This year members from M.B.A , M.Sc(IS) and M.Sc(CS) attended various seminars & workshops conducted by C I I, O.U, B.Badruka College, Central University and APSCHE in association with Globerina.
I am confident that our students through dedication and hard work are sure to bring laurels and accolades to the organization they are committed to.
I take this opportunity to invite the patronage and participation of leading industries and corporate houses in our campus recruitment and constitute a new cadre for Women Professionals.
I thank the organizations that have helped the institution at various levels.
