Profile
The Department of Political Science was established in the year 1960.
The department caters to students opting E.P.P and M.C.H.P. groups at undergraduate level.The department since inception of the college. A background of Inter related disciplines History , Civics and Economics at the Intermediate level, enables students to opt for Political Science at the under-graduate level.
When English was the medium of Instruction there was only one section which offered Political Science as optional for degree course Prof.Rama Melkote , Mrs. Kusuma and Mrs.Kamlesh Nair were the faculty members during in Initial Phase. The strength of the section was more than 60.
Progression of Department
Telugu medium was introduced in the year 1970’s. In the 1980’s in keeping with a major trend in the study of Political Science , International Relations was offered as optional paper for the students of final year.
Activities of Department
To conduct extension lectures by eminent subject expert. Discussions with students in class rooms on some important chapters and also set tasks about daily News Papers and also organized field trips.
->In the year 24-12-2004, we conducted field trip on the topic of “ Public Policy and its execution”.
->In the year 4-9-2023 , A field trip to Mahaboobnagar on the topic of “Impact of Governmental Polies on Society” and also arranged exhibitions.
