Golden Jublee Celebrations 2004

The foundation stone of the College established in the name of late Raja Bahadur Venkat Rama Reddy a Philonthraphist, Social reformer and Staunch supporter of women’s upliftment was laid by none other than the first Prime Minister of India late Sri Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in 1954. The college building was inaugurated in 1956 by the then vice president of India Dr.S.Radhakrishnan. Luminaries such as late Sri Konda Venkata Ranga Reddy, Padmabhushan Madapati Hanumanth Rao, Sri P.Ramachandra Reddy and several other well wishers nurtured this college to provide quality education to girls from rural areas.

The College will soon complete 50 years of its glorious service in the cause of higher learning for women by scaling new heights in academic excellence. The University Grants Commission, based on its merit, had conferred autonomy on the college in 1989 and it was one among the first three affiliated colleges under Osmania University. To meet the emerging requirements of knowledge based society, the management has rightly recognized the need for a new approach to education and introduced career oriented UG and PG courses in the field of Computer Science, Business Management, Biotechnology, Micro-biology etc.

A nation is built on its educational institutions. Started with a meager strength of 59 students, the college has now grown into a reputed institution with an enrolment of over 2500 students pursuing both undergraduate and post-graduate courses. Its alumni have not only attained the name and fame in different fields at the national level but also adorning key positions in India and abroad.

It is against this backdrop, the management has decided to celebrate the Golden Jubilee in 2004 as a mark of its yeoman service to the cause of women’s education particularly in the backward area of the State of Andhra Pradesh.

Vision :
Starting several new courses, provision of additional academic infrastructural facilities and construction of multi-storied academic block in an area of one acre acquired by the college near the main campus are planned to expand the activities of the college.

In the gigantic task of implementing the Golden Jubilee Master Plan, the college not only needs adequate finances but also guidance from Philanthropists, our own alumni and all well-wishers. We therefore appeal to you to extend a helping hand in the form of valuable suggestions as well as donations. It will be a great support to noble cause of women’s development.

Note:
1. Donations to this college are exempted from the Income Tax Under section 80G.
2. Cheques may be drawn in favour of “RBVRR Women’s College Golden Jubilee Account”
