A BRIEF REPORT
Departments of Business Administration and Computer Science (P.G. Courses), R.B.V.R.R.Women’s College, Narayanguda, Hyderabad, has organized a two-day seminar on “INNOVATIONS AND QUALITY ENHANCEMENT IN HIGHER EDUCATION”, which was scheduled on 12th and 13th December 2004 as a part of Golden Jubilee Celebrations.
Prof. R.V. Chandrashekhar Rao, Former Vice Chancellor, Dr.B.R. Ambedkar Open University, Director, Asian Program and Training, Commonwealth of Learning, Canada, has inaugurated the Seminar and delivered the keynote address too. The Welcome address was given by the Director P.G. Courses and Administrator, Dr.(Mrs).G.Seshikala, and the Chief guest was introduced by the Principal, Ms A.G. Suneethy Reddy.
The Seminar and its sessions deliberated on:
· TQM in Education, Professor K.Rajnath from the institute of Public Enterprise spoke on the topic.
· E-Governance and TQM was delivered by Mr. S V Srihari Raju, Technical Director, National Informatics Centre, Hyderabad.
· Quality Circles in Education, which was delivered by Prof. I.Ramachandra Reddy, Principal, CBIT, Hyderabad.
· Innovations and TQM was delivered by Prof.Changanti Subba Rao, Director ENHANCE.
Prof. V.Shekhar, Head Department of Business Management, Osmania University, delivered the valedictory address on the occasion. He emphasized on how important the Quality was, how TQM was compatible to Higher Education. He even stressed on the performance expected out of teachers and students to attain TQM. He spoke about the creativeness to be implemented, on having Consortium, and interacting with the industries through MOU.
The Seminar was well attended by students and staff of various colleges.
