from Prof. P. Narasimha Reddy
The institution was started with a vision to be the
premier institution providing quality education to women in general and in
particular to those hailing from rural areas.
In persuit of its vision the college management has
adopted the unique policy of reserving 60% of seats in U.G. programs for girls
hailing from rural areas.
The college was the only non-minority affiliated college
to be conferred autonomous status by U.G.C. in the Osmania University area in
1989.
We take pride in stating that we are the first to start
the M.B.A. Programme for women (in 1991) in O.U. area.
Autonomy came handy in innovating the course content in
almost all the conventional subjects and there by saved the conventional
programmes relating to those subjects from extinction. Autonomy also helped in
starting programmes relating to need based subjects like Biotechnology,
Bio-informatics, Microbiology, Computer Science, Medical Laboratory
Technology, and Electronics.
The college has planned to start the P.G.Courses and other
job oriented courses to help women become economically independent. As an
initial step in this direction the management has finalized plans for
providing additional accommodation at an estimated cost of Rs. 1,50,00,000 and
also started the process for introducing M.Sc(Chem) and M.Sc(Maths) programmes
from the academic year 2005-2006.
We
seek suggestions, support from our alumni, other well-wishers in shaping the
institutions as one without Parallel.
