The Department of zoology was established in the year 1954 with BZC (EM & TM) Combination Later, with the advancements of life science the Department of Microbiology was established in the year 1997.

Our department renders flexibility by offering various choices in academic courses as per        the interest of the students has been imparting the quality education.

The Department has a glorious and eventful heritage. Benefitting from the rich contributions made by a galaxy of eminent academicians and has produced a formidable batch of teachers and research scholars over the decades. The Poineer of the Department is Mrs.k.Savithri Roy

The members held in various positions and served the Institution with different capacities Authors of books & Best teacher awardees

Mrs.k.Savithri Roy was the first Head of the Department and served as Principal during 1989

Dr.Ms.Mohini served as Principal during 1999-2000

The Departments have well qualified staff with PhDs, pursuing PhDs with NET, SLET qualifications. The Faculty is involved in Research and have National and International publications

The faculty regularly attends various Conferences/Seminars/Workshops /Guest Lectures/as Examiners/ Valuations & helds in various capacities in College Committees i.e; NSS, Library, Indian journal etc. The Departments has associated with various National Institutions, Medical Colleges for both Academic and Research purpose.

The Department has friendly ambience and cordial environment We aim to provide a supportive and open atmosphere for everyone who works here, staff, students and visitors alike.

Aims & Objectives

• The Department is established with the aim and motivation, to provide knowledge of Zoology and everyday developments in life sciences so as to spread awareness and understanding about modern technology among peoples through students
• Aims to provide a broad multidisciplinary course in Zoology & Microbiology
• To develop appropriate skills and research expertise through hands-on training in laboratory experimentation, field studies and research projects.
