Today the commerce department identifies itself as an important wing of the college in view of the strength of the students, no. of courses offered, the performance of the srudents over the period and the positive attitude of both students and staff towards the challenges posed by the management.
The commerce course in this college was introduced in the year 1969 at intermediate level and subsequently at U.G.level in the year 1971 both in English & Telugu media. To keep in pace with the changing needs a no. of new courses were introduced with the development of information technology, a need was felt to computer based education to students B.Com (Computers) Course was introduced on self financing basis in the year 1998-99.

From the date of establishment of the department till the present date there is a tremendous growth of students strength from 160 to 770. The Department has organized bank coaching classes to the students. There are altogether 12 sections of B.Com I,II & III Years.
The department is operating with 12 staff members who are dedicated and sincere. About 50% of the students after graduation from the college are pursuing higher studies in courses such as M.Com, M.B.A, M.C.A & L.L.B.
Some of the students are appointed through campus placements in:
WIPRO, INFOSYS, GE CAPITAL, SITEL INDIA, BANK OF AMERICA, IBM, DELL, HSBC, GENPACT.
