The Department has a committed and dedicated faculty of 3 members out of which, 1 Doctorate, 2 are SET qualified. To farther this cause and to widen the students horizon the Department regularly conducts seminars, workshops, extension lecturers, exhibitions and study tours.
The Department has 3 very well equipped laboratories with  instruments like laminar air flow, cooling Cetrifuge, Table top Centrifuges, UV-Visible Spectrophotometer , Autoclave, and Incubator. Hot air oven , ELISA Reader, Water Baths with Thermostats,  Electronic balance, Electrophoresis Kits, Binocular Microscope and Simple Microscopes, Micropippets, Disection Microscopes.
The faculty have published around 15 papers in National and International Journals with good impact factor and also presented papers at various National and International Conferences.
Curriculum Design & Development:
- The Department designs & develops its own curriculum as per the guidelines of the Osmania University through the B.O.S.
- Every year the B.O.S members meet to review and update the existing curriculum.
- Once in three years the department takes up complete restructuralization of the curriculum based on advice of academic peers, industrialists, outgoing students AND the syllabus for the academic year 2017-2018 is revisedÂ
Curriculum Enrichment:
- The curriculum in Biotechnology provides an excellent general training in analytical thinking & problem solving in major Biological areas. Modern Laboratory techniques & skill training provides employment in areas of Biological Sciences.
- Developing & understanding U.V, I.R, NMR & Mass spectra of organic molecules,
- Apart from the regular subjects our students also are taught extra topics like - Genetic Counseling, Molecular Pharming/Farming, Food contamination, Food adulteration and Microbial and chemical analysis of water. In our college our students are able to counsel the parents, and also are able to educate the people coming from different walks of life about food adulteration, food contamination, water contamination and also the adverse affects if the hygiene conditions are not followed. Our students also go to surrounding rural areas/villages along with NSS committee and are conducting camps through which they are able to educate rural people.
