Laboratory equipment
- The Department of Chemistry has 7 well equipped Experimentation labs, 2-balance rooms, 2 instrumentation labs, 2-Preparation labs, 1-Chemical storage room & a Centralized Research Lab.
- All the labs are equipped with sophisticated equipment availed through autonomous budget, UGC Special grants & CPE budgets.
- Each lab is well equipped with fuming hood, fire extinguisher & ice making machines. The Dept also has a distillation water plant which supplies distilled water to other science departments.
- A Centralized Research lab is also equipped with a automated instruments like FTIR,UV, Spectrophotofluorometer and well advanced computer systems with latest Chemistry software & Laser Printers.
- The Department has the following additional equipment for Research- Magnetic Stirrers, Hot Plates, Suction Pump, Centrifuge Machines, Melting Point Apparatus, Thermostat, Gel electrophoresis, Rota vapours, Electric water bath, Double Distillation Plant, Microwave Oven, Hot air Oven, Electronic balance, Mantles, U.V Visible Spectrophotometer with P.C, FTIR Spectrophotometer, Steam distillation & Double Distillation apparatus, Conductometers, Digital PH meters, Potentiometers , Polarimeters, Colorimeters, Soxhlet apparatus, Moisture Trapper, Separation techniques- TLC & Column chromatography apparatus, Flourescence Spectrophotometer, U.V. Chamber, Single pan balance, Water Circulating Pump, Chiller, BOD & COD.
- A Spacious Store room for the chemicals which is always kept well stocked.
IT-Infrastrcuture:
- The Department is provided with well advanced 3 computers with latest version of MS office, scanners, Cannon Laser Printers & LAN Cable for Internet connections.
- There are three Computers in Research Lab with Latest software like Chemdraw, ChemSketch, Chempro, ChemUltra, Origin, Marvin, Argus for Research purpose.
- The Department also has an LCD projector for ICT method of Teaching and learning.
Departmental library:
Departmental Library has 150 titles &162 volumes with a good number of advanced and books of rare collection. The library is well maintained & regularly updated with latest books. The catalouge of books of different disciplines of chemistry are recorded in a register which is well maintained. The faculty makes use of the library and an issue register is also maintained.
