Extension Activities

2019-2020:

Department of Botany has organized an outreach program “FLOWER ARRANGEMENT – BOUQUE PREPARATION” on 4/5/2023 in botany lab by Profession florist Mr.Pradeep of  M.N.Flower  Decors and Arrangement .A total number of 45 students of B.Sc(BZC,MBC,FNBC) IIyear students participated and got hands on experience of making different styles of flower bouque and gained the knowledge of utilizing different kinds of flowers and the leafy material of  the plants. Through this program students can act as entrepreneurs of  supplying  bouques  for various occasions in and outside  the college.

      

Department of Food & Nutrition has organised an Out reach program on  importance of Nutrition in Todays world, maintaince of proper meals timings ,Aboundance of particular Nutrients in specified foods and Health hygiene in Rein Bazar Govt High School by Sindhuja and Supriya FNBC 3rd year students.click on the link to get the review  of program.

Extension activities is planned to train the local peoples to cultivate the mushrooms, Vermicomposting, Organic garden composting and Panchagavya in self-employment basis.

Botanical Tour:   Date: 9th September 2019.

As a part of curriculum department of Botany has taken B.Sc. II year students a strength of 123 to Ananthagiri hills, Vikarabad District to collect flora of various plant families of this particular region. A number of 36 plants of different genera of different families collected by the students for herbarium preparation. Students get knowledge about climatic conditions which suits the growth of different species of plant and trees.

                           

Field trip:  Date: 30th July 2019.

Department of Botany organized a field trip for final year students to Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticulture University ,Rajendranagar, Hyd. A number of 90 students along with faculty accompanied them to visit the institute. The faculty of the University interacted with the students and explained the procedure of eligibility in to the University and about their course Curriculum and different branches related to horticulture. They assigned field officers to show their laboratories and  field. They observed the cultivation of High density Mango plantation and different types of polyhouses involved in growing different varieties of Vegetable, Flower yielding and Ornamental plants under controlled conditions in all seasons.
