THE OBJECTIVES AND AIMS
- The Department of Zoology & Microbiology initiated the Zoo micro club with the name FLAGELLA, “The movement of aspiration “from the academic year 2017.
- The club has a BLOG With the required elements.
- The club is a community for students with a keen interest in animals and conservation.
- The Club is geared towards their professional development, Planning & promoting Science events.
PHILOSOPHY AND VALUES
- The Departmental Club believes that Students and Faculty have a shared responsibility to obtain knowledge.
- Faculty should maintain their expertise by ongoing investigation, presentation & persuit of scholarly activities.
- In addition Students should develop skills in Communication, analysis and critical thinking relevant to Zoology, Microbiology & other disciplines.
Aims & Objectives
- The purpose of the club is to advocate for animals & microbes in a changing world.
- To nurture and develop innovative culture through skill based workshops, Inspirational Seminars, Competitions etc.
- The club also includes Guest lectures, Field trips to wild reserves, celebrating important occasions, News about latest research findings & more.
- To provide information about the possible applications of Degree course.
- Club inculcates and improves scientific temper, scientific thinking, new ideas and enhance scientific awareness amongst students.

Report on National Pollution day Awareness Walk
The Department of Zoology & Microbiology has organized a rally on the occasion of “National pollution day” by the first & second year B.SC (BZC, MZC & FNZC) students.
Different placards were made with catchy slogans like “Go green, keep it clean”; “Stopping pollution is the best solution” etc. Around 60 – 70 students went on an awareness rally from the RBVRR women’s college to Barkathpura circle & back. The students shouted the slogans drawing the attention of the shopkeepers, by standers & the traffic on the road.
Report on Visit to CCMB :
The Students of BSc. MBC-II years have visited CCMB on 26thSeptember 2019 in connection with open day ( a part of CSIR foundation Celebrations) . The Guide explained in detail about the lab equipments like TEM (Transmission Electron Microscope ) , Fluorescence Microscopy , Scanning Electron Microscope , Model Organisms like Drosophila and Zebrafish , Importance of Liquid Nitrogen , present Research Works going in various fields of CCMB wings , exhibited many models . The students have known the present research going on and inculcated the basics of Scientific Knowledge.
Report on Scientific Carousal Fest
The Department of Zoology and Microbiology has conducted “Scientific carousal fest” in connection with 1st Anniversary celebrations of Flagella club for all life sciences students on 29thDecember 2018.
The main theme of this event is to give honour to the Scientists by recalling their innovations to get the spark of inspiration from everyone.
The fest was inaugurated by the principal Dr.K.Sarada and the inaugural is followed by a brief Annual report on Flagella club by A.Ch.Pradyutha , HOD.
On this occasion three events were conducted,
1. MIND MANTRA CHRONICALES -this is basically quiz which taps the knowledge & IQ level of the students.
2. PASTEUR HUNT -here, fun goes with knowledge , eagerness & Pace of the students.
3. BIO-RANGOLI -this event brings out the creative colours of science by the students

REPORT
On the occasion of World AIDS Day The department of Zoology & Microbiology has organized awareness programme on AIDS On 1st December 2018.
Students of BZC, MZC, MBC I & III Yr participated in awareness programme. To create an awareness among school students (Madapati Hanumantha Rao girls High school), our students delivered awareness talk, participated in drama and role play.
