OBJECTIVES:
- To provide practical exposure to the students in the concepts taught in the class.
- To build self-confidence among the students in presenting the topics in real life scenario.
- To empower the students with academic and technical knowledge.
- To encourage students to become Event Managers related to club activities.PLAN OF ACTION:
- To conduct Business Quiz related to industry and commerce.
- To organize Group Discussions among various group of students.
- To enable the students to give power point presentations related to current affairs.

- TARGET GROUP: Students of B.COM

A Report on Commerce Club
The commerce club Akraya was established by the Department of commerce on the 16th of December 2017.The club aims to encourage students to keep upto date with the current events on the world of Economics, Business and Commerce. It further promotes critical thinking in order to implement the concepts learnt during class. It also aims at bringing out the inherent talents of the students.
The club conducted a detailed discussion and analysis session on the union budget for 2018-19,which enabled the students to grasp the major aspects of the budget in relation with the socio-economic demographics of the country .Activities like poster presentations, debates and quiz have been planned so that the students can continue to expand the horizons of knowledge beyond what’s taught in the classrooms.
ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED:
21st December 2019:
Commerce Day was celebrated on 21st December 2019 by Commerce Club “AKRAYA”. The programme has started with lighting of lamp by Secretary cum correspondent Prof. Sudershan Reddy, Principal Dr.K.Sarada and Vice Principal Dr. Achyutha Devi. Business charts were exhibited by students of B.com Final years. “Student Bank” was inaugurated and the logo was unveiled by Prof.Sudarshan Reddy. Principal, Dr.Sarada has addressed the gathering and contributed Rs 5000/- to the student Bank as a part of Capital amount.6 students from B.Com I & II years have been nominated for the Organising committee of the bank. Students of B.Com final year have given presentations on “Innovative Business Ideas” such as Banos Mobile Toilets, Agri-App, Hit-Fit, Pre cut vegetables App. Motivational skits on De-Monetization and sales promotions were performed by students followed by Cultural programmes. Some of the students have sold food items, Handmade products as a part of Sales promotion
23-11-2019: Business Quiz:
A Business Quiz was organized by Commerce Club (AKRAYA) on 23-11-2023 in the Auditorium. Students from B.Com I, II, III year have participated in the Quiz. There were 12 groups from each year. Five groups have reached the final round. The questions asked were related to Business, Industry and commerce. Prizes were distributed to the winners and runner ups by Ms.Anitha, Head department of commerce. All the participants and volunteers were given participation certificates
3rd-March-2018:
The Commerce Club, Akraya, conducted its first activity on March 3rd, 2018. The members presented thorough reports on various aspects of the Union Budget. There were eight presentations in all, and topics such as rural financing, healthcare, education and taxes were covered.

21st July, 2018 :
The quiz competition has been conducted by Akraya [commerce club] on 21st July, 2018 in the college auditorium. The competition included 50 students from B.com I, II and III years as participants forming 10 groups of 5 participants in each group.
20th December 2018:
The activity Smart on Spot was conducted by Commerce club (Akraya) on 20th December 2018, in the college auditorium. There were around 200 participants. The activity was divided in two rounds. The first round was about lateral thinking. The audience was asked riddles. In the second round, the participants were given situations wherein they have to give the best convincing answers. The participants tried to give the answers according to the given situation.
6th-july-2019:
Students of B.Com III Year have presented a paper on “Union Budget” & “Women Empowerment” on 6-7-2019. All students of B.Com I, II & III year students have participated in Interactive Session
