UNIT - I
Systems Concepts - Elements, boundaries, classification of systems - open and closed, systems integration, organization development and systems approach. Outline of Systems Development Strategies: System development Life Cycle (SDLC), Structured Systems Analysis and Design (SSAD) and prototype method.
UNIT - II
Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) - Life Cycle concepts of systems , phases of systems analysis and design, project selection, sources of ideas, criteria, project feasibility study, cost - benefit analysis, Systems definition phase, requirement identification, systems design, design parameters, elements of design, systems implementation and evaluation.
UNIT - III
Structured Systems Analysis and Design (SSAD): Concept of structured analysis. Development of data flow diagrams , Data dictionaries, physical and logical data flow, tools for structured analysis, data capturing and validations, File Design, file structures . File Organisations, System reliability and maintenance.
UNIT - IV
Introduction to software engineering process and management, software requirement analysis. Software design Fundamentals - data flow oriented fundamentals, user interface analysis, programming language and coding. SW product management - Estimation, planning, scheduling & monitoring.
UNIT - V
Software Quality Assurance - SW quality, SW review ship, quality metrics, Software testing Techniques and Strategies - Testing fundamentals, while box/black box testing, SW testing approach, and Software Maintenance.
