General introduction: classes of capital and shares-record of share capital transactions including over-subscription-calls in advance-calls in arrears-issues at a premium-issue at a discount-issue of shares for consideration other than cash-forfeiture of shares-reissue of forfeited shares consolidation-and sub division of shares.


UNIT-II.
Debentures-classes of debentures-distinction between shares and debentures-issue of debenturesI) for cash (ii) for consideration other than cash (iii) as collateral security conversion of debentures into shares-redemption of debentures-creation of sinking fund for redemption of debentures,
(Excluding problems on underwriting commission and purchase of debentures in the open market)
Bonus shares


UNIT-III
Final accounts of trading and manufacturing company.(excluding computation of managerial remuneration).


UNIT-IV:Bank Accounts
Breifdescription of certain important books, ledgers and registers. slip system of roasting-accounting of roasting-accounting year-final accounts; prescribed forms of profit and loss account and balance sheet-salient features-explanation of items appearing in the
Final accounts (including journal entries for transactions like bills for collection, acceptances, endorsements and other obligations, bills discounted, rebate on bills discounted, interest on doubtful debts and revaluation of investments)-problems on final accounts, rebate on bills discounted and interest on doubtful debts.


UNIT-V:Life Insurance Account
Introduction-classes of insurance business-explanation of terms (claim, premium,
Bonus, surrender value,annuity,etc)forms of revenue account and balance sheet-explanation of items(including journal entries for adjustments like outstanding claims bonus in reduction of premium and interest accrued on investments, outstanding premium
And claims under reinsurance)-problems-ascertaining of profit of life insurance company-accounting procedure relating to preparation of valuation balance sheet and statement showing results of valuation-problems.




UNIT-VI:Amalgamation and absorption of companies(excluding inter company holdings)
Objects-meaning-purchase consideration-accounting entries in the books of vendor company and purchasing company-problems to be worked out on lump sum payment method, new assets-method and net payment method(including inter company Owings cancellation of unrealized profit on inter –company transactions


UNIT-VII:Reconstruction of companies (excluding schemes of reconstruction)
Meaning-external reconstruction-internal reconstruction accounting treatment problems.


UNIT-VIII:Insurance claims for loss of stocks only
Fire loss claims-claims for loss of goods-average clause steps in calculation claims-problems dealing with loss of stock.


UNIT-IX:Valuationof goodwill and shares
Goodwill-need for valuation-different methods of valuation of goodwill-average profits method-super profits- method capitalization method.
Shares-need for valuation-asset backing method-yield method-earning capacity method
-fair value method

UNIT-X:Ratio analysis
Ratio analysis-advantages and limitations of ratio analysis-computation of the following ratios
