Department of Economics

The Department of Economics is in existence with the inception of the college in 1954 with Inter classes. From 1971 to 1984 economics was included for B.Com I, II, IIIyr in both media. The department has the distinction of introducing M.A. Economics as first women�s college in Telangana area. M.A Course was conducted from 1983-84 to 2002. Department invites distinguished speakers to give extension lectures every year. To name a few Dr. Raja Chelliah., Dr.P.R.Bramhmanandam, Dr.Hanumanth Rao, and Dr. Y.Venugopal Reddy (present Governor of RBI. He was also subject expert in the 1st board of studies).

The department arranged exhibition on the Indian Economy, organized seminar in Status of women. The department conducted 2 workshops on Question Bank and prepared Question Bank for B.A. Economics course. With the introduction of semester system the question bank was revised.

Under the Autonomy, syllabus was restructured for B.A. and B.Com.
